Refunds and cancellation

How to get your money back for a book, cancel a subscription to an author, and how the platform invoice works.

Version of 12 October 2026

1. Who sells

Paid books and subscriptions on Letopis are sold by the authors, through their own Gumroad and Patreon stores. Letopis does not take payment for books and cannot refund it by itself.

2. Money back for a book

Write to the seller through the link in your Gumroad receipt. Refund periods and terms are set by the author and by Gumroad’s rules; your mandatory consumer rights still apply.

After a refund the paid part of the book closes; free chapters stay. Where and when you bought a book is shown in “Purchases and receipts”.

3. Cancelling a subscription

A subscription to an author is cancelled where it was taken: in Gumroad or on Patreon. The “Manage subscription” link is in “Purchases and receipts”. The author’s books stay open until the end of the paid period.

4. If a book is hidden or taken down

If a moderator hides a book for breaking the rules, we ask the author to refund those who bought it and let them know. If the author takes a book down, your copy stays in your library.

5. The platform invoice — for authors

The invoice is 10% of the past month’s sales to Letopis readers. Refunds to buyers lower the next invoice by themselves. If an invoice is wrong, write to “Help” — the correction comes as a line in the next invoice.

A paid invoice is not refunded, except for errors and where the law requires it.
